 Best perk: fits over permanent iphone case August 31, 2010

I've given this product 4 stars because overall I have no complaints. I have a Speck brand case on my iphone on a permanent basis, and I like that I can stretch this product over the top of it instead of taking my iphone out of its case and switching cases every time I wanted to work out.
I looked at several products, and most of them seem to be aimed at you permanently attaching their case and just removing the arm band when you didn't need it to work out. I don't need another permanent case, just one I can slip on and off for running outside, and this one fits the bill.
The material itself is super stretchy, and the arm band stays put and fits my (non bodybuilder) arms just fine. I haven't had any issues with sweat, arm band slippage, or iphone jiggling while running that other customers have complained about across different products.
Finally, the company that ships this product seems very small and customer-service oriented. They send you an email before shipping wanting you to confirm they're about to send you the right product; I didn't have any problems but I'm sure they'd more than take care of me if I did.

This armband as stated in previous reviews is as basic as they come. The silicone case will most likely be the first to go out. It is so thin that on any given use stretching it slightly to put the phone in will cause it to rip. Such as in my case. Also, the velcro on the armband begins to lose its grip after only 4 months of use. I am not an avid runner so this armband has only been used occasionally. I originally bought the Tuneband because of all the glowing customer service reviews. After noticing the rip on the silicone case I contacted customer support only to be told that they would offer me a replacement case at the customer appreciation price of $12. Wow what a discount. I get a disfunctional product and you expect me to buy another one? No thanks. Avoid this product. Go with a reputable product that actually has customer service. I recommend the Belkin Armband.

Silicone case is soft, thin, and although it's flimsy, there's no danger of the iPhone dislodging. The front is not enclosed, so this case is not weather or sweat resistant. Two thin slits in the back provide a space for the velecro armband to fit through. Some other reviewers have said that their phone bounces around and shakes. To solve this problem, just tighten the armband to be a little more snug (no need to over-do it). I've bought other more expensive cases and damaged them pretty quickly. This one is inexpensive, works well, and looks good.

The case and band work perfectly to secure and protect my 3GS on runs, except when it rains, in which case I first cover my phone in plastic wrap.
Two suggestions for the iPhone 4 case or reiterations of the 3G/3GS case: (1) The case could be more snug. I currently have about 2 mm of space between the top of the phone and the case. (2) For an even better fit, the case could use an extra strip of silicone running all the way across the phone just under the screen and above the home button. In other words, there should a circular opening in the case for the home button, not a big scoop.
That's all. Fantastic product at half the price of most iPhone cases!

Armband works just as described! The velcro works perfectly and hasn't worn out on me (although I don't use it every day).
Also, I used this with my new iPhone 4 yesterday and it worked fine - no need to buy a new one if you already own one. I was not concerned about the phone falling out, especially with headphones plugged in. The volume buttons are a little harder to feel but again are fine.
