Product Description This hard drive enclosure for 2.5" SATA-interface drives makes your files ultra-portable: fits in your pocket and can be accessed by any computer's USB ports. Supports drives up to 500 GB. The included cable has two USB plugs (Type A, the regular kind) for connecting to the computer, and one mini-USB plug for the hard drive. The cable uses two plugs for input/output & power from the PC, so you don't have to carry an extra power adapter!
The indicator light shows you when the drive is being accessed.
Perfect drive solution for students, business people, and those on the go!
To determine if your hard drive is an IDE drive or a SATA drive, please look for the connectors. An IDE connector is longer, and has two rows of pins that stick out.
A SATA connector is smaller and has two plastic tabs with flat metal contacts.

Great little box August 24, 2010 Nicholas Behr Fits my old laptop HDD perfect! Powers up with only one USB. The case could snap together a little more secure feeling, but it hasn't come apart on me ever. Highly recommended
Gets the job done with little hassle. August 23, 2010 Legorick I upgraded my PS3's hard drive so I put the old one in this, so it wouldn't go to waste. It was easy and works fine. Not much else to say.
Altoids-Tin is right! August 19, 2010 SellStuffUSA (Ohio) I received this enclosure recently and immediately put it to work.
CONSTRUCTION
As several other reviewers have side, it feels about as solid as an altoids (mints) tin - however the SATA connection board does not look or feel cheap, and in fact the tool-less design though a little flimsy, is about as good as any other cheap portable case. I have spent 2-3 times this on similar products, and have come away feeling about the same with all of them.
FUNCTION
The things works, pure and simple. For powered USB ports (motherboards, PC cases etc.) you will only need the thicker part of the USB cord plugged in. DATA transfer rates are standard, depending mostly on the hard-drive you put in.
OVERALL
I am not worried about my data being damaged by this case, although as someone who's profession depends on storing data safely for years at a time, my important files will not be stored on here permanently. Great if you have a laptop that gives up the ghost and you need to grab your files (as I did).
poor quality July 28, 2010 Francisco Ablen (Lexington Park, MD, US) hardly worked. intermittently recognized by my computer, appears to be loose cable connection. very poor quality material.
Excellent Case At A Steal Of A Price! July 25, 2010 Tony Jones (Georgia) I recently upgraded my laptop hard drive and purchased this case to use with the old drive so I could have an external backup drive. I couldn't be happier with this little case. It worked perfectly out of the box. And I love the fact that there are no screws. You just take the top off of the case, insert your drive and then snap the top back on and your done in a matter of minutes. Your drive fits snugly inside, so it doesn't move around and the snap on top secures it in place. Just because it's inexpensive, doesn't mean it's cheap made. It looks great and works great. I like it so much, I'm going to get a couple of more. So, if you're looking for a hard drive case, then look no further because you've found it.
