2 out of 5 stars Poor design - but at USB 2.0 speeds!   December 10, 2004

When it comes to USB hubs, anything that works fast enough will do the job, right?

Wrong. The iConcepts 75053 is a crummy product. When mine arrived, the top cover came loose from the rest of the body, exposing the innards. I scotch-taped it back on. Also, instead of having a power adapter, it hogs two of your computer's USB ports and sucks power from both of them. This is dumb. Finally, when I plug my USB memory drive into it, it occasionally also has to re-detect all of my other USB perhipherals (which causes my USB mouse to stop working for about 10 seconds, and makes my printer and scanner make noises, etc.). Oh, and sometimes the useless blue LED turns itself off (though the device still works).

On the plus side, it does work at USB 2.0 speeds, and I never had any driver problems.

In short, if you're in the market for a USB 2.0 hub, you can do better than this hunk of junk.
