works November 29, 2008 John To (CA, USA) easy to set up and works well. Understand that it only has one drive. Can be deceiving with dub button
Hardware good -- Software not February 2, 2008 Rich (NJ) Like title says, the hardware (actual burner) is fine. I've burned over a dozen DVDs with it so far. Would have been worthy of the five stars, but using the software that came with it would lock up my computer everytime I tried it. Said the install was fine, but alas it didn't work (Windows XP). Couldn't even use the Control-Alt-Delete to unlock the computer. Had to manually shut down the computer each time. Luckily, it does come with third party software (Nero) which worked great. Only thing is, its (full version of Nero)only good for 30 days before you have to purchase it. So, is the product worth buying? Yes, if you have third party software to use with it, or better luck than me using the software that came with it, or willing to purchase the version of Nero after trial date.
Easy to setup and use January 19, 2008 P. Petrillo (Columbus, OH) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the DVD writer last month. The writer was easy to setup and install using the USB interface. It took about 10 mins. The supplied Nero S/W is good for novices, but my be lacking the details needed for more advanced users. Overall a good product for people with little computer knowledge.

Much, much faster than generic external 16X DVD-R I had before January 9, 2008 Mark Gurfinkel (New York, NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Good: - much, much faster than generic external DVD+/-R that I had before - this one writes 4.4GB in 7:40 min (using Philips 16X DVD-R) v. previous about 17 min - recorded 30 disks so far, no problems whatsover - never thought that I would use the EZ-DUB or File buttons on the drive - but I did and I love it! I use EZ-DUB's own software all the time now! - very easy installation - my Windows XP immediately recognized the new drive and the recorder was up and running in 2 min - sturdy, well-built drive - great for young parents! The Bad: - a bit bulky, however see the previous point Conclusion: I love it!
