4 out of 5 stars eGo Portable Hard Drive   November 30, 2008
Elizabeth Haker (Massachusetts)
The hard drive works well but had trouble with software on my old computer as needed more memory to do back up and recovery discs

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   November 29, 2008
Maurice Hayon (Brooklyn, NY)
I dropped it twice while it was connected and being used, and I still don't have any problems with it. It's durable, fast, effective, conveniently small and inexpensive. This is by far the best external harddrive I've ever owned.

5 out of 5 stars Pocket friendly, handsome and functional.   November 29, 2008
Dr. Philip Johnson (Torrance, CA USA)
All portable hard drives are not the same. Once one has whittled down the plethora of external drives on the market using capacity, weight and dimensions as parameters to a few suitable competitors, it is left to the equally important choices of color and shape.

The internals of the Iomega drive have been described in countless on-line reviews and in computer magazines: they do the job they were designed for and quietly too. As for the appearance of this unit, color is a hard choice - there are eight of them! Each to his own, but as you are reading this review you also found Ruby Red to be the most appealing. Factor in its ergonomic pocket friendliness and this is the winner. The quality of the exterior is high and the semi-matt finish does not retain finger marks, so it looks good on ones desk all day long. The unit needs two free USB ports to supply the required power and these should be adjacent to each other in order to use the included cable. If not, a hub or a longer Y-cable will be required.

This hard drive has a sturdy feel and a high quality finish. It is pocket shaped with no sharp edges or corners. This reviewer found no fault in the two months the unit has been in daily use.

4 out of 5 stars Extremely portable   November 25, 2008
E. C. Aldridge (Danville, VA)
I've had this product for a little over a month, and have used it probably 10-15 times, both for large transfers (over 100 GB) and small, single file transfers. I primarily use it to access files between my XP desktop and Vista laptop. The only problem I've encountered is that the drive is not recognized the first time it is plugged into a USB port. I have to unplug it and plug it back in before the drive is recognized. I haven't yet encountered any problems with data loss because of this, but only time will tell.

Aesthetically, the drive is a deep, beautiful red with a slightly sandy texture to it. It easily fits in my laptop bag, purse, or camera bag, and looks great sitting on my desk.

All in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Very satisfied with product. Meets or exceeds my expectations. Only negative from my perspective is color.
