Great picture frame December 2, 2008 Will B. (Manchester, CT United States) Just got my Opteka 15" frame and I love it. No problem putting the AC adaptor in the compartment and having the cord hang out the back and putting the cover back on. Also, there are slots for hanging the frame on a wall. I haven't hung it up yet because it needs a couple of strong drywall anchors due to the weight of the unit and I don't have any yet, but I don't think it will be a problem. Pictures look beautiful. I have a 7" digital frame and it is way too small for anything other than a desk. The 15" size is what is needed for a wall mount and the wood frame and white mat really compliment the pictures. Only complaint so far is it doesn't seem able to play my .avi videos, but I didn't get it for that use anyway. Haven't tried the sound and don't plan to. I had no problems getting it to work right away - didn't have to download any pictures first.
Nice frame November 26, 2008 J. Drake Very pleased with this frame. You really need to buy a separate memory card if you have many photos at all but that's not a problem. My first unit arrived DOA - it did not power up. Replacement worked just fine.
Dazzling, Sharp, and Bright November 24, 2008 Rock Pixel (Fresno, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You could not ask for better picture quality. There is a trick to setting this up. The instructions don't explain this well, but the first thing you should do is download photos from a computer, not from a memory card or stick. After you download from a computer into the frame's built-in memory, the frame will then recognize memory sticks, etc., that can be left in place. I am using a 2 gig CompactFlash card, plus a separate Sony Memory Stick, which means I have immense memory available for hundreds of high quality photos. The video (from your photo camera) is ok, but the sound doesn't always sync perfectly. Buy this digital frame if you want to show off your beautiful photos, not for the video capability.
Very good picture, great price November 17, 2008 WorldPhotographer 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The picture is very good, and you just can't beat the price. I was a little concerned, since the competition usually starts $100 more expensive (remember the old adage, "you get what you pay for"), but I have been very satisfied. A great little remote control (Don't loose it!!), decent menu system, and very good picture quality. I have no comment on the sound, since I don't use it for sound at all. Lots of memory option slots (4, I think), and very easy startup/auto viewing of pictures. Gets a lot of rave comments when we have guests over, and I have recommended it to all of my friends.
$199? Are you joking? October 20, 2008 Coug Moog (Charleston, WV USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Look at every single other frame offered by Amazon for under $200. Do you see any 12-inchers? Nope. A 10-incher or two, then it goes to single digits. And this Opteka does a better job than any of the other 15" frames I've seen. It not only takes your picture cards, but also your standard run-of-the-mill thumb drives. Looks great and the price is right. Yes, you have to find a way to get the cord to stay in when you hang it on the wall. But that's a minor issue solved quickly with Duck foam double stick tape. This is a must-have office accessory. Just be judicious about what photos you display on it in your office. You never know who may stop by--and this frame will be the first thing they notice. It's that good, and will be your most-appreciated gift.
