Product Description The XV-N670B provides DivX (5.0) playback, the video compression format for computer files on the Internet. DivX accounts for 250 million downloads worldwide, as its video technology offers high-quality video at seven to 10 times greater compression than MPEG-2 files, enabling full length films to easily fit on a CD or be delivered over broadband connections. The XV-N670B also features 1080P up-conversion via HDMI output and also an optical digital output. This is a slim design DVD video player featuring HDMI output (up-conversion 1080p), multi-format playback including DivX (R).

Excellent Performer. September 8, 2008 T. Bluford (Richmond, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD player replaced a Toshiba model that I was not satisfied with, in that, it would freeze perfectly ok discs, and the unit became noisy during operation. I am happy with the JVC model; it has outstanding video reproduction; flawless performance, and it's totally compatible with other connected JVC equipment. One minor fault is; the display is too dim, even in total darkness. Overall an outstanding piece of equipment.
worth the money September 1, 2008 Antoine Davis (Alaska) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
i own this player and compared it with a samsung blu ray player, both connected via a HDMI cable to a samsung HDTV and to be honest with the exception of minute visual details this player and its upscaling ability is worth it. the blu ray costs over 300 dollars and this player made me realize blu ray still has along way to go to be worth the money, but until then buy this play, invest in a HDMI cable and enjoy crisper scenes and details and the new life this player brings to your "old" dvds.
Pretty good August 7, 2008 Mel K (Los Angeles, CA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nice picture output, although not sure how much upscaling this thing really does. It's nowhere near Blu-ray quality, at least on my Samsung HDTV. The system is very slick looking and thin, although unexpectedly a little too wide. Check the measurements to ensure a proper fit with your space. I'll concur with the other reviews in stating how useless the display is. It is not only laughably tiny, the light is so low there's no way you can read what's on it more than a few feet away. Still, not a deal-killer for me, since I don't find it necessary to stare at the display too much, but I know others may.
Excellent, and inexpensive DVD player July 5, 2008 Michael J. Frederick (San Antonio, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've only had it a few days, but am extremely happy with it. However, as mentioned before in a previous review, the display is a joke. Even sitting up close to it the display is almost useless. Fortunately I don't depend on the display much, but for those that do, you will be very disappointed in it. However, given what the system can do, and how well it does it, that can easily be overlooked. I've run some old movies and some concert videos through it and they all come out really great. This is one player that will not disappoint you if you're looking for an inexpensive, but feature rich DVD player.
very good product June 10, 2008 B. Moskov (usa) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This product is excellent for the price. The picture is great and the sound is very good, plays pretty much any video format.Very good colors and clear image. Very satisfied with it, considering the fact that it has hdmi output, 1080p upconversion, digital optical and coaxial outputs. Here is the 3 things I do not like but for the price again no big deal: The loading tray is very thin and looks like it will break easy, but as of now is ok. The display is extremely tiny so you almost do not see it from 6 feet distance, kind of annoying since you do not know how much from the movie you have seen. The player is black, but the remote silver color. They do not match. As far as performance no complains at all, but happy.
