We bought this for our 11 year old daughter and it's perfect for her. It is portable, provides good sound and also charges while the IPod is docked. This IPod dock is a good value for the price. It can be plugged into the wall or run on batteries. It has several IPod adapters and even has a jack for video output. If your looking for more serious sound quality (with less portability) I would recommed the iLive IHT3817DT which we purchased for our older daughter.iLive 2.1-Channel Speaker Bar with iPod Dock (Black)

i love this product! the sound quality is ok, but it's definitely great for the price. i love the am/fm radio and clock. also, i really like that its small and portable. the volume can also be quite loud, but the sound quality's best when the volume isn't too loud or soft. my favorite feature was the little thing that holds the ipods. (it includes one for each ipod type, so your ipod should fit snugly). =D

The sound quality on this is really, really bad. When I play my ipod, there's static and/or buzzing on every song, even at low volume. Don't even try to play it at a higher volume! My ipod plays fine everywhere else so I know it's the boombox.
I had to return two other ilive radios, a black, slightly different version of this one that had worse sound quality and a cord that didn't connect right, and also a green version of this ilive radio from ebay that didn't work at all! I am having bad luck with this particular brand and I won't be purchasing anything from them again. Thankfully Amazon has an easy return policy.

I purchased this product, GPX IBR2807DPPNK iLive Boombox w/iPod Docking Station, for a xmas present. When I order the item I ordered it in purple but when I got it the item was pink...So just a little FYI for you. Either color works for me but be sure it works for you too, who knows what color you are going to get! Happy Holidays!!!
Great little dock/radio but color is deceiving December 8, 2008

This is a great little dock/radio. We have 2 in our home already and the kids love them b/c they sound great, look great and charge their ipods but color is deceiving. I just ordered this purply one for my daughter. It is not metallic purple which is what the picture looks like. The description says pink and it is. It is bubblegum pink so it might be too little girlie for some. Again the boombox is great but be aware that pink definately means pink.
