Amazon.com Product Description The Griffin iTrip Auto FM Transmitter with SmartScan wirelessly sends music from your iPod to your car radio so you can listen on your car stereo speakers. It combines Griffin's renowned FM transmitter technology with an integrated charger. Designed specifically for use in the car, the SmartScan function makes it easier than ever to find the perfect frequency. SmartScan scans the radio dial for the three best frequencies and saves them to the preset buttons. The high-contrast display is easy to read in any light, and the three-stage light ring changes color to indicate charging status. Great product! January 9, 2009 James E Smith Jr (Charleston, SC) Works great and is easy to set to the international mode. Press "Function" then hold down "Mode" options will come up to choose between US/EU/JP. Select JP and you can tune to 87.7 and 87.9. No interference!!!
iTrip auto FM Transmitter w/ smartscan for ipod January 7, 2009 Elizabeth Reed (Rockport, MA) One of my most wanted gifts, so am disappointed! How can I drive when the device constantly needs adjusting? I absolutely need a co-pilot to use this iTrip w/ SmartScan. My husband did nothing but fiddle with it on an hour-and-a-half long road trip- and he's a tech-geek! - drove me nuts, and made me realize I will not be able to use it while driving alone. Not sure what I expected, but certainly not this!
Works Great January 6, 2009 Miss X (Philadelphia, PA) This iTrip works fine with my 4th generation nano even though it is not listed as being compatible. And it's much more convenient to have a transmitter on a wire than a dock. It makes it easier to hold the ipod and changes songs or have a passenger change the songs.
Hit or Miss January 5, 2009 Lisette (USA) My friend has one of these that she loves and works great. I received one for Christmas and had a very different experience. I live in an area where it isn't too hard to use an FM transmitter to listen to your iPod and still could never get this to remain clear for more than a few seconds. I tried everything but the static was persistent. When I took it back to the store the man in front of me was returning the same type and the cashier said that only a few of them work correctly, so if you are lucky enough to get one of those, hang on to it! It would seem to me a company like Griffin would be better at guaranteeing the quality and consistency of its products. I would look for another alternative to this product unless you are a glutton for punishment.
Works great! December 27, 2008 M. Lawlor I dont understand why so many say these things dont work. I just got one for my ipod touch and it works great! Depending on the station used there can be a little static but after hearing tons of bad things about fm modulators iwas expecting much worse. I would definately reommend it to a friend. BTW I tried it with a Ipod Touch 2g and it charged and played fine! Review was conducted in a late model toyota corolla
