Griffin RoadTrip FM Transmitter with SmartScan for iPod January 9, 2009 Leann Wiggins Sent within a shorter time period than originally stated. Came as stated - one of the 3 didn't work. It was refunded without a problem. Great service!
not good January 9, 2009 Michael Harris I live in the nj about 25 miles from nyc. I mention this because the unit runs on the fm airway. If you live in an area like nj where there is a density of fm stations this unit will not perform to your satisfaction. the auto seeking feature finds you a staion that will sound good for about 5 miles at most then you start getting static. i am returning the unit to amazon. their return process is very simple and fair.
Wonderful!! January 6, 2009 Rachmaninoff girl This product is wonderful. I have an iphone 3G and the clarity I'm able to achieve with the roadtrip is remarkable. Hardly any static. Even when I travel long distances, I don't have to change the station very often. The smartscan option is very useful as well. Even though this product is not advertised as compatible with the iphone, it is. You'll get the message saying that it's not, but don't worry. It still charges the iphone quickly and is super easy to use. I highly recommend this product! It's not big and bulky, which is also great!
Great Idea, bad transmitter January 5, 2009 Max (Walpole, MA) As previously stated, in Massachusetts, this product does not function. The only "sweet spot" for FM transmitting in Massachusetts is in the 87 range. This device only lets you go down to 88.1. Anything programmed from 88.1 to 107.9 only lasts a minute or two (if at all!) before it gets static. Ugh. The gooseneck is great and the product is well designed for looks and comfort. Unfortunatley, if you are in an area with numerous FM stations, you'll unlikely get any reasonable functionality from it as a transmitter. (Unlike their previous models that have worked well for me!)
Sound not so bad for Iphone 3g. Fits with case January 5, 2009 F. Qin (Los angeles,CA) I love how this product gets rid of the ugly wires and puts your phone conveniently at your finger tips. I drive a Toyota Camery and the power is just below the A/C. Also it will fit most phones with slim cases on them. Sometimes if you stay on a station too long you do get some bad feedback static. But you have to say on the station for like 2 hours or something. I found if you change stations the problem usually goes away. Other than that the music sounds great. Good sound quality.
