Versatile, high quality transmitter January 3, 2009 Nicole Carr (Weston, WI USA) I got this for my sister for Christmas, and she LOVES it! It is a 17 hour drive from her house to mine, and 5 from her house to our Mom's, which she travels around once a month. She was thrilled with how it worked up here in N. Wisconsin, through MN, IA, NE, and metro Denver. Hardly any static, the ability to tune to any frequency, and it's ease of use was all raved about by her. She has a Creative Zen mp3 player.
Clear Sound and Good Range December 24, 2008 Marc D. Newman Here is a product that does as advertised and does it well. The sound is clear and I was somewhat surprised at the range that the Kensington has. I live in an urban area and after reading other reviews, I was concerned that I would have to make frequent adjustments to keep the signals from fading out and getting static. I was pleasantly surprised to find that after getting the correct frequency no other adjustments were necessary in my commute (over 25 miles and about an hour). Good product and simple to use.
sounds good so far December 12, 2008 C. Harris (Mobile,AL) It is so hard to find a good transmitter for an ipod. This one has a clear transmission and is not too bulky. Highly recommended!
Watch the wire! November 22, 2008 Willy (Goshen, NY) I bought one of these last year and it was great, little or no static or interference. This one transmits especially well. You can't go wrong for [...]. One major problem with it is the wire. Be careful with it! When you connect it to your power outlet be careful not to pinch or pull on the wire especially if your power outlet is recessed in the dashboard. It'll become detached and you'll end up having one channel go out. You can play with it and have both channels work but eventually it'll fail totally. Also the wire protrudes out of the left side of the unit. If you want to keep your player in your lap while driving ok but if you keep it anywhere else this will cause the wire to become pinched. A good idea with this unit would be to plug it in vertically or sideways or even upside down so as not to pinch or pull on the wire. Make sure there's no tension on it. The looser the better. It'll last longer that way. I really like this transmitter and bought another after my first one suffered the pinched wire fate after a year. I'd encourage anyone to try this out,it's a good one. JUST DON'T PINCH OR PULL ON THE WIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Making Adjustments November 18, 2008 Chavarria (Guatemala, C.A.) Hello, a few pointers: 1) Wirelles transmition will always have a poorer quality than cable connections 2) None of the wireless transmitters out there in the market will be sustancially different than this one 3) You can do several things if you've bought a wirelles transmitter to improve transmition: - You can unplug your antenna (this will diminish the reception of radio frecuencies and will improve the transmition of your FM transmitter. - You can connect a cable from your antenna output directly to the FM transmitter, wrapping it around (This will improve drastically the reception) and you can hide the cable by passing it inside the console of your vehicle. - Dont worry about the radio now, if it true that the reception will dimish due to the antenna unplug; the reception will still be more than ok. (this will not affect you if you are in the city as the radio frecuencies are quite good.) - If indeed your radio reception is bad, you can always plug a serious of other radio devices, such as your cell phone, or other conventional radio devices wich are pretty cheap. The only thing that has to be a 3.5mm input (such as the ipod input) 4) Dont buy this product if you spend most of your time in the city, as it will simply wont work because of all the frecuencies jamming all the stations. If you are in the country where there are not as radio frecuencies as in the city it can actually work without adjustments. [...]
