Comfort is also taken into consideration with the HD 280's. Soft, circumaural ear pads guarantee comfort over long periods of use. Amazon.com Product Description The HD-280 Pro is a closed-back, circumaural headphone designed for professional-quality monitoring. Its exceptional attenuation of environmental noise (up to 32 dB) makes it particularly useful for use in high-noise environments, in outside broadcasts, and for DJs. Featuring rugged design and optimum sensitivity, the HD-280 Pro will deliver detailed and natural reproduction of music and speech with a wide frequency response of 8 to 25,000 Hz (-10 dB). Owing to its collapsible ear-pieces, the HD-280 Pro is highly compact when it comes to transportation. And all parts that are subject to wear and tear--such as earpads, headband padding, and the audio cord--are easily replaceable, ensuring long life. The headphone's 9-foot cord is detachable, so if it wears out you have only to replace the cord, not the headphone itself. The cord is made of oxygen-free copper for pure, long-lasting audio transmission.

Great Headphones November 22, 2008 C. Gardner (Atlanta, GA) I'm using these to monitor audio during field video productions. The 32db sound isolation is great. These really help me determine which ambient noises are being picked up by the mics. Perfect phones for this type of application.
Great headphones November 21, 2008 S. messer (MI) these are a good pair of headphones if your looking nto to spend a ton of a pair of headphones. the only things i disliked about them is the band started to crack after a couple months.
First Cans November 18, 2008 Paul Demoss (New Orleans) Sound is pretty great to me. I'm not an audiophile and definitely do not care about sound enough to become one. I am also not scared to spend money if I judge one product to be superior to another. I budgeted about $350 for headphones (mostly for PC gaming) but most reviews steered me to these. My ears and the sides of my head were definitely feeling uncomfortable after about 4 hours of WOW. Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pros are already on the way.
So far, so good. November 18, 2008 David Feral (CA) I use these with my Yamaha DGX 620 Portable Grand and found a depth and richness of sound that I was not getting with the built in speakers. Bass tones in particular are richer, and treble tones more lively. Next upgrade is to get comparable sound in an external speaker system. I've lengthened the head band so that it does not rest firmly on my head, and find that the earpieces are comfortable for extended playing sessions. I went for the higher end product based product reviews and so far am quite satified with my choice.
These Don't Sound As Good As Most Reviews Tell You November 18, 2008 Dmitri (The desert of the arts Florida) These are my first Sennheiser Headphones. I purchased them based upon the glowing reviews for their sound. I just also bought a pair of Sony 7506 headphones at about the same price range. The Sony's blow these out of the water. The 7506's have deeper bass, better imaging, extended treble, and are more sensitive. They also seem to mate better with my Yamaha receiver for impedance purposes. The Sennheiser HD-280's will give you better sound than less expensive headphones, but both the Sony 7506 and V700DJ models are overall better in sound, sensitivity, power handling, and distortion.
