Product Description The standard 3.5mm audio plug works with all popular MP3, CD & portable tape players and iPods. iTrip Auto Universal gets its power from the 12 Volt accessory outlet in your dashboard. Its large, clear LCD makes setup a snap and innovative features like switchable LX/DX Modes ensure great sound even in large cities with lots of radio stations crowding the dial. Using iTrip is as simple as tuning your radio. Pick a frequency on your FM dial at which you hear silence or static, then tune iTrip to broadcast to that same frequency. Share your tunes with the entire car.

ITs good BUT! January 13, 2008 M. Hanes (VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Its a decent transmitter if you know how to switch it to international mode. pretty much hold in the one button on it for like 30secs until you get a choice of US or intl. then you can access the lower frequencies that seem to work a lot better. 87.9 works great for me. The problem is the shutting off when it thinks there is no sound. If you don't want this to happen you got to turn up the ipod volume until it distorts, but who wants that? It pretty much turns off every five minutes for me. So I kinda drive with one hand on it to hit a button to turn it back on at all times. This is the stupidest function its not like it runs on batteries, then I could understand trying to save power. But it plugs into a cigerette lighter outlet, whats the big deal with saving power its plugged in!!!! It should be on if my car is on and thats it. Instead they added a corny function that serves no purpose but to piss off everyone who bought one. Good job Griffin.
Simply did not work - no stars August 4, 2007 Onnimarie (Chevy Chase, MD USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I so wanted this product to do what it is supposed to do. It did not work at all. Sadly, a total waste of my money. It does not even deserve one star.
Decent enough... July 12, 2007 A. Porterfield (Houston, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pro's: 1)The sound quality is in-between fair and good enough, the problem is that there is a very subtle static noise, but it's not always there and when it is it is very subtle 2)the size and weight, and the fact that it doesn't need a battery are great features. Cons: 1) when it gets hot from being in the sun in your car the display becomes annoyingly painful to try to read, so plan on keeping it on one channel 2) it seems that if it get's bumped around it will turn off momentarily, it also seems that when you play soft music, it tends to turn off also, so no opera or symphony. Summary: It's a great device for the price I paid. I believe that if the antenna on my car weren't at the back the static problem wouldn't be a problem. I simply gave three stars because of the quality and the fact that it turns off periodically.
Gets the job done July 5, 2007 Genius by birth, slacker by choice (Westminster, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This modulator works as well as can be expected. I bought this to use with my iPod while driving a rental car. It did what it was supposed to do, but not much more. The sound quality was tolerable. The music was a bit tinny and there was some static in the larger cities, but overall it worked as advertised. A solid buy and will do what you need it to do.
Okay at best March 22, 2007 Dill Pickle 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The sound quality okay, not nearly as good as other FM transmitters I've used, even on clear channels. Does not seem to have the power as other transmitters either. The most annoying this is that it will turn off if it thinks you are no longer playing music. This typically happens to me when a quite song comes on. Because the radio is turned way up to hear the music (my ipod's volume is almost maxed out and this still happens) when this happens you get an earfull of deafening static.
