This is the best cover for Kindle October 18, 2008 N Carolina Reader (NC) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I tried all kinds of covers for my Kindle and finaly settled on this one for several reasons: - Well made with a nice feel of leather - It protects the Kindle reasonably well while providing full access to the power and whispernet switches on the back - Top flip design quickly gets out of the way providing unhampered access to next page/previous page buttons - Reasonably priced - Very lightweight - Unique concept of back props facilitates hands free reading The only flaw I have found is that it can slip away from the case even when the case is closed and inside a bag. But, I will live with that for all the other goodies it brings to the table. Recommended!
Good cover October 15, 2008 Katelyn R. Schreyer (Maryland, US) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This cover has a few pros and cons: Pros: -It's smaller than the original case. -It's impossible for the Kindle to come loose when the cover is closed. -The back of the Kindle never pops off. -The prop stand on back works well, and clips down securely when not in use. -There's slots for two SD cards on the inside of the front flap. -All the ports are accessible when the cover is closed, and when the cover is open, access to the switches on back is easy. -The Kindle is easy to hold and read in this cover. Cons: -The sides of the case are open, so the keys on the sides could be damaged if I drop it. -The Kindle leans a tiny bit to the left when seated in this case. -The leather it is made out of is very soft. This could be a pro, depending on your tastes. -The material seems a little flimsy, but the only other case I've used was the Amazon one, which was overly rigid. The top-flip design is interesting, and I do think I prefer it over covers that look more like books. One thing is for sure, with this cover, no one who sees me with my Kindle will think that I'm reading a normal book in a leather cover. All-in-all, I'm quite pleased with this purchase. If I were still a student and the Kindle had to survive my backpack, I would have probably jumped for one of the more substantial covers, such as an M-Edge, which would have made it easier to find in a backpack, as well as protected it better. As it is, my Kindle lives in my purse, where it fits snuggly, and has a whole pocket to itself- an M-Edge would not fit, and the Kindle doesn't need the extra protection.
Enhances my Kindle Experience September 2, 2008 Des (Florida) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I searched all of the covers available for the Kindle and this is the only one that appeared to do what I needed. When closed and snapped, the Kindle stays securely in the cover. When opened, I can flip the cover back and release the stand (which snaps shut when not in use) to prop the Kindle for hands-free reading. A cover seems to be essential, because when I don't use one, I find myself accidentally pushing the page turning buttons. The cover that comes with the Kindle works for that purpose, but is still somewhat awkward because it opens like a book. The Kindle also tends to slide around in the provided cover, especially if I need to access the buttons in the back. The Tuff-Luv cover flips over and out of the way. If I need to turn off the Kindle, I can do so without it slipping around. Just be sure that the Kindle is placed properly in the cover, because the tabs that hold it are pretty tight. The reason I gave this product four stars instead of five, is the spine seems somewhat flimsy compared to the rest of the cover. I don't think this is going to be a problem, because otherwise, the cover is attractive and well-made. All-in-all, I'm happy with this product.
Pretty Good Cover! August 31, 2008 D. Tucker 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a pretty good cover, especially if you want one that will stand up while you are eating or whatver. The leather is a very soft feel, and the way it flips over kinda makes more sense than one that opens like a book. The little flap at the bottom right has a magnet snap thing that holds it. When opened, the Kindle stays in place mainly by gravity. In other words, nothing straps it in place, but this is not a problem for me. The cover is lighter and thinner than the one that comes with the Kindle. Overall, especially due to the way it can stand up, I like this cover very much.
