Good work out November 23, 2008 Laura (Gilbert, AZ) This is a great work out. Love that the intervals are timed and you're not counting reps, that gets annoying. Jillian is motivational and only annoying because you see her say the same things over and over. Anyone would get annoying. I did the Level 1 workout with my high school dance students and they were really tired afterward. It was good to have something challenging but with moves that are simple to do and modify. Only wish I could make it up to the second level.
Most efficient 20 minute video I've seen November 22, 2008 Carrie (Tustin, CA) Jillian gets an amazing workout in for 20 minutes. Even Level 1 would be tough for most people. If you workout regularly you'll still struggle but will probably move up to Level 2 fairly quickly. By the time you work your way up to Level 3, you have plenty of strength. The other Jillian videos aren't as good. I recommend this video to anybody.
Fast results! November 19, 2008 M. Remich (Pittsburgh PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this workout! Yes, you will be challenged - anyone who says otherwise needs to raise their weights or move faster! The 2nd best part is that the 3-2-1 intervals make it move fast for you - just when you think you can't go on, you know you are about to switch. The 1st best part is the fast results! I have only lost 3 lbs., but that was not my goal. After the first 10 days, my clothes fit better, and I have lost inches everywhere. I have not made it to the 3rd workout yet, but am pleased with the fun and the challenge from the first 2. I'm scared for #3 - I'll review again when I get there!
Jillian Rocks! November 18, 2008 Claudia Smeriglio This woman is a warrior. I've been doing this DVD for 2 weeks now, and I have to say she's tough but really good. She's challenged me more than any of the other workout tapes I've tried so far. She accepts NO excuses and she also shares some advise while working out. I leave the cover out and on top of my DVD player on purpose because I can't ignore her. I feel she's watching me and if I try to skip a day I can hear her yelling "you got to work for it if you want to look this good!" Love you Jillian, you really inspire me! Get the DVD it will challenge you.
20 minutes of butt-kicking November 17, 2008 Amberlynn Alvord (West Chester, PA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have to say that the workouts seriously kick my butt. I'm in pretty good shape and at a beginner/moderate level of fitness. About the workout: There are no breaks. The workouts are only 20 minutes long and you work for the full 20. Jillian is a pretty good motivator. The workout is done in circuits of strength, cardio, and abs. The exercises are basic moves such as lunges, squats, flys, and rows. Some people may get bored with such basic moves, but for the choreography challenged (me), it was a sigh of relief. I like a good dance workout as much as anyone, but most of the time I end up stumbling all over myself. This was a basic boot-camp style workout, the kind I used to do while training in gymnastics (many years ago), and the simplicity of the moves was welcome. I definitely have trouble going up the stairs afterwards. You just don't stop moving! The downside, and the reason for my 4-star rating is that the workout is hard on your knees. I had a severe tibial plateau fracture about a year ago and have finally gotten the ok from my doctor to exercise more vigorously. There is a lot of jumping in this workout, so beware, my knee was definitely sore afterwards the first time around. I've adjusted myself to not jump so high, but faster to minimize the impact and I can do the workout without any pain and still be sweat soaked at the end. This will most definitely be part of my regular rotation as it makes a great morning workout before work or even a lunchtime workout at work!
