| Editorial Reviews:
Album Description "Stars. The new album from Mindi Abair. A unique mix of pop, soul, jazz and vocals......leading a whole new movement in contemporary music." "Stars" puts her in a stand-alone category when compared to her contemporaries...and is not to be missed! The album represents a musical shift for Mindi; in addition to her signature sax sound, she has also featured her unique and modern approach to vocals on this album.
Album Description Japanese pressing of her 2008 album features one bonus track: 'Fly'. Stars is a mix of supercharged Pop, Soul and Jazz featuring stellar melodies, insinuating rhythms, sultry sax and seductive vocals. She is a great saxophonist, a terrific vocalist and an adept composer all in one! Mindi was the 2003 Best New Artist of the National Smooth Jazz Awards. Universal.

Stars October 13, 2008 Amy C. Little Great album. I knew of her saxophone skills but she sings too! Very good if you like "smooth jazz."
Brilliant October 3, 2008 Mr. Stephen K. Owen This is a brilliant album. Mindi sings a bit more on this album, and I for one love it because she has a sexy singing voice.
Mindi Rocks August 14, 2008 R. Judd (Layton Utah) Mindi Rocks!!! Great album - dont let the negative reviews sway you from this album, great sound and an amazing performance...
Live vs. CD August 12, 2008 D. Thomas I have been a huge Mindi fan since her first album. Back then, and to an extent now, she reminded me of her own mentor, Mr. David Sanborn. I enjoyed him for years so naturally I appreciate Mindi. Buy the CD because it's good to have in the collection. The instrumentals are slammin and years from now, you will be playing them!!! The vocals, ya may want to skip over them. Sorry Mindi :( I think she tried to show a little diversity but it's her 'horn tooting' that we all fell in love with. Now, I have to say that I saw her this past weekend at the Long Beach Jazz festival. I was shocked to see that MANY of the vocal songs were left off the live performance and she stuck with the songs her true fans love. So my Final Answer is this: When playing Stars, skip every other song because they include vocals, PLEASE do buy her old stuff [for the new comers], and without a doubt....see her live on stage. You WILL NOT be disappointed there.
Lovely August 8, 2008 L. Nelson (Chicago-ish, IL USA) First of all Mindi is gorgeous! I'm not a music critic, but I knows what I likes! I own her other CD's and yea, Stars is different. She does sings more. I think she's got a nice voice. There is still plenty of soulful sax in the album. If this CD sounded like her others would people complain about that? Yep! Can't please everyone all the time. Bottom line, if you are a fan of Mindi Abair you'll enjoy it.
