The Best Boombox/Ipod Port Currently Available October 8, 2008 Music Lover (Desert, USA) I've owned this item for 9 months now. This docking port for the ipod is enclosed to prevent dust and damage to your ipod. Simply hook up your ipod to the usb port on the boombox and listen to your ipod's music library. The ipod storage compartment could've been an inch longer for a little more room for the ipod, but other than that, I have nothing to complain about this item. The boombox's speakers give out decent sound for it's size, and is nice to take on fishing/camping/outdoor expeditions. Until companies manufacture a REAL boombox or home stereo system that has a built in ipod that one can load their mp3's directly from their pc, this is the best item your currently going to find. Other products out there are fragile and the ports don't protect your ipod. Apple's current product line of boomboxes are junk and fragile, don't waste your time. I'm very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone.
mobile power back up and boombox August 1, 2008 J. McGuire (Grand Rapids, MI) The product is great but keep the manual handy. It's not exactly what I had in mind, but it does the job for what it's intended. It should have a seperate battery (small watch type or triple A) for the radio pre-sets and clock. When the power goes out for the 'power supply' for the outlets or mp3 hook-up, it's out. If you turn off the internal switch, you lose all memory. Should be splash resistant too considering it's marketed towards work stations.
poor performance June 27, 2008 C. Conrad (usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this product at a good price.Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. Cheap plastic, pressure sensative back door that does not function, poor reception, and a battery that lasts for about one hour even when its continuously charged as the directions state to do. Also it's claim to be a 100W converter source is laughable--the circut breaker trips on anything more than 60W!! One star only because it doesn't accept 0 stars.
Battery shot after one use June 18, 2008 William Peevey (Dallas, Tx.) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought it because i have to test new homes in rough construction and the only thing that i need an outlet for is a 110v fan used to test the tightness of A/C ducts in the home by depressurizing it. turned the fan on 3 times for all 3 units just fine but i only had to turn it up about a quarter of the way. So after the tests i slowly turned the fan up and the B&D unit shut down and would not come on for the rest of the day. after a full nights charge, i turned on the radio (it worked) took it to work, turned on the radio and it shut off about 2 mins later. Never held a charge since.
summer fun machine April 10, 2008 E. K. Arnold (yay area, usa) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
with this boombox-style unit, you could go to the beach or the woods, listen to your playlists on an mp3, plug in a george foreman grill and cook up some burgers or brats while you recharge your cel phone -- all at the same time. that's kinda cool. this is a tricked-out unit. it's not the loudest boombox you'll ever hear, but it does pump out decent sound when fully charged. pros: -lots of functions: mp3 cradle, usb port, flashlights, ac outlets, am/fm radio -portable size with comfortable padded carrying handle -uses rechargeable internal batteries; cord stores in rear -ac power station features green/red status lcds -rubberized grip handle -nice price -wont eat tapes or scratch cds -accurate digital tuner cons: -some quirks: usb can cause feedback if switched on when radio or mp3 are also on. it's a good idea to test functions and cross-compatibility before using it the first time. -100w refers to AC power, not internal amp for speakers -only line in outlet is mp3 headphone jack jack of all trades/master of none. overall, good deal for the price i paid, which was a lot under msrp. not sure if it'd be worth original price. but a good item to have if you like the outdoors.
