This hard drive is the best portable I have owned so far. Perfomance is good. Under the devise manager you can optomize it to make it respond even faster. It is whisper quiet and can be moved around while it is in use. It starts up and shuts down with my laptop. It comes with the Y ended usb cable for additional power. On top of that it looks slick. Have had previous Iomega drives and a series of Western Digital drives. This is slightly bigger but far more robust and reliable for frequent travel. Previous Iomegas were fragile and the Western Digital Drives failed to save files when using the functon in Office programs. After my experience with this drive, I bought another for my wife who was very frustrated with her WD drive and its failure to save files. She is completely satisfied with this Iomega.

I'd been doing some reading here on Amazon and decided to go for this one for it's size and the fact that is plugs into two USB port because some had trouble with the USB port not putting out enough power to keep the disc going. I've had it only a few days but it's fine so far. Looks and feels sturdy. I'll use it to go travelling on a motorbike so that'll put this thing to the test. If it doesn't hold up I'll let you know. I would have liked to have more cable between the two USB plugs so I can use one port on the left and the other on the right hand side of my laptop. But that's just a detail. Also I just did the test and it also runs on just one USB port. In short so far I'm very happy with the product.

I just got this product today and it's great! I connected it to my computer and was loading it up with all my files in seconds. I have thousands of pictures and music that I lost once, and do not want to lose again. No more backing up my files on CDs and DVDs. Really a great product and worth every penny.
I got the pink one and it isn't as pink as it appears in the picture. It looks red, so much so that when I first opened it I thought they sent me the wrong color. Not a huge problem, but one worth mentioning.
The size is good, but it's a bit bigger and heavier than I thought it would be, but it's still very portable.
It looks just like a flask; I can't wait to pull it out at work and see what kind of stares I get.
